Native Plants

Pollinator species and plants depend on one another symbiotically. The plants need pollinators in order to reproduce, and the insects and other pollinators need plants for the nutrients they provide via nectar and pollen. One way that we can aid this relationship, and the many ecosystems that depend on it, is to plant native flowers in your area. The seed packets we distribute have a small amount of seed that can be planted in any garden, window box, park, or meadow. Meadows are crucial ecosystems for plants, animals, and humans. Help plant one today!

“Meadows are embedded in human consciousness. Open, sun-filled expanses of golden grasses and wildflowers are the foundation of our own ecology. We are animals of the savannah and prairie. We evolved in these spaces. We invented agriculture within them. As children we gravitate to them knowingly, already nostalgic for these magical places we are only first discovering, full of soft, tangled undergrowth and hidden life. We memorialize meadows in sketches and photographs and paintings. Meadows are pollinator habitat, and home to frogs and foxes. They are intricate carbon sequestration machinery, and complex water filtration systems. Meadows are art.” -Northwest Meadowscapes
